THE BOYS
|
Unfortunately our boys have to be confined to a boys’ room because they all spray. The boys are confined to their walk-in cages at night, but we rotate their time out of the cages so that each boy has plenty of freedom to run and play. Teddy Edward and Fred are always together and they are joined by Jack who was neutered last year. Bibo, on the other hand runs on his own as he and Fred don’t quite see eye to eye. The boys have company at all times provided by two spayed red shorthair Somalis who are waiting for a “forever” home, but in the meantime they are quite content to be with the boys. |

Bibo at five months of age.
Bibo came to us July 24, 2008. After clearing all Customs formalities, Bibo came out of the carrier purring!!
Because he had been in transit for quite a number or hours,we allowed him out of the carrier once we cleared city traffic.
We thought that he would like some water, perhaps some food and would need to use the litter pan.
Well, he had other ideas. Once he checked out the car, he promptly began to play
with his favourite toy in the back seat!!!
Bibo has taken to shows with the same kind of aplomb. His first two shows (at age 4 and 5 months) were CCA shows where he went Best of the Best Kitten.Only time will tell how his show career will evolve.
Bibo’s short show career exceeded our expectations. As a kitten he was 6th Best Regional Kitten (Ontario) and 10th Best Kitten Nationally for the 2008-2009 show season. Bibo obtained his Grand Championship in CCA in addition to being awarded 7th Best Regional Winner (Ontario) and 13th Best Cat Nationally. Alas, like most intact male cats, Bibo lost his coat due to a hormone surge. However, in the past year he has regained his coat and if he is happy being in the show hall, then we will show him again. Somalis really don’t come into their full splendour until they are around 3 years of age or more. We are hoping to have some professional pictures taken of Bibo while he is in full coat.
Bibo has a wonderful purrsonality in that he is loving, knows no strangers,
has a very well developed sense of self as well being rather strong willed. We are very excited about his future contributions to our breeding program.
Thank you Esther and Marco!!

Teddy Edward was born Sept. 12, 2006. His sire is GC Dunedin’s Haldir and dam
is Kalyna’s Whisper.
Teddy obtained his grand championship in two shows in 2007. He enjoyed the shows
and was an absolute delight to show. Teddy greatly resembles his sire Haldir.
We think that Teddy has a better head and better colour, but he is
tall on his
legs just like Haldir. He too possesses that sweet gentle nature of his sire and grandsire.
Teddy Edward was CFA 5th Best Somali, Best Somali Great Lakes Region for 2007-2008
as well as being best Somali in CCA for 2007-2008 in spite of a short lived show career.
Although Teddy continued to enjoy shows, his hormones kicked in and as a result he lost coat and
his wonderful full tail. Teddy has retired from shows and is doing his part in contributing to our breeding program.

Fred was born on the “Ides of March” (March 15)
2007.
He is a colourful boy with a lovely disposition. Fred
is out of Kalyna’s Victor (red shorthair Somali)
and Ch Zodiacal Eowyn
of Kalyna (ruddy Somali).
